Osceola County school bus drivers Job circular
Search still on for Osceola County school bus drivers, with monthly job fair
FLORIDA'S OSCEOLA COUNTY — The Osceola County school district's transportation staff refers to the labor shortfall as "huge" and reports that they are still "desperately recruiting bus drivers." From 8 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, there will be a job fair to replace 30 positions as well as additional positions.
The Osceola County Schools Transportation Services Department will host a career fair on Wednesday from 8 a.m. to noon.
30 bus drivers are still required in the district.
Bus drivers, mechanics, clerks, paraprofessionals, ESE teachers, speech-language pathologists, and occupational therapists are among the many positions that are available.
Since the start of the academic year, there have been monthly employment fairs.
Community
relations expert Zach Downes said, "You know, positions come and go,
individuals leave, move on with their life or retire.
Making sure
the community is aware that there is an available position at the neighborhood
school system is always a smart idea.
In order to
fill the 30 driver positions, routes are doubled up or other drivers put in
more hours, according to Downes. He said that each employment fair typically
hosts 15 to 20 interviews. After training is over, the hourly wage for a bus
driver will be $16.50, which
includes an increase.
Additionally,
there are positions for clerks, mechanics, and bus attendants, to name a few of
the different staff employees the area lacks.
